Amendments to the Australian Rules of Racing
New rule AR.104A added, effective 1st August 2008:
“AR.104A. A weight allowance of 2kg to fillies and mares shall apply to all set-weight and set-weight-and-penalties races, other than those races that are restricted to fillies and mares.”
(This allowance will also apply to handicap races)
Subrule (1) of AR.103 amended, effective 1st August 2008: (words added): to read:
“(1) The top weight allocated for handicap flat races must not be less than 58 kilograms, except for Group 1 handicap races and races in which 2yos only can run, for which the allocated top weight must not be less than 57 kilograms.”
Introductory words of AR.104 amended: effective 1st August 2008: (words substituted) to read:
“The Standard Weight-for-Age, expressed in kilograms, for flat races shall be from 1st August 2008 in accordance with the following schedule:”
AR.104: Addendum to the Weight-for-Age Scale amended (substitution of weight allowance): Addendum to read:
“Fillies and Mares allowed 2kg from 1 August – 31 July”
