Stewards today conducted an inquiry into the bona fides of two medical certificates presented to Queensland Racing Limited by trainee Apprentice Kelly Gates relating to her failure to attend Apprentice School.

In the presence of her master Mr Paul Facoory, Ms Gates pleaded guilty to a charge of a dishonourable action under AR175(a) in that she falsified two medical certificates on 20.10.08 and 27.10.08 to certify her illness and inability to attend Apprentice School.

Ms Gates was disqualified for a period of three (3) calendar months effective immediately and to expire at midnight 2 February 2009.
